Priorities

The 4th Phase of the ECOS Project is to develop prioritization criteria; and subsequently prioritize implementation strategies/actions/projects through the criteria to achieve our common goals. In other words, the criteria will help us determine the most effective ways to achieve sustainable growth in the County.  The strategies and projects will be incorporated into the Draft ECOS Plan (Regional Plan, Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) and the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS)).

The prioritization criteria will:

1. Serve as a tool to prioritize regional strategies in the ECOS Plan
2. Serve as a tool to prioritize projects for the MTP and CEDS
3. Serve as a tool to prioritize actions/projects to be funded through ECOS
4. Serve as an on-going tool to help municipalities and partners gauge the degree to which an action or project furthers the goals of the ECOS Plan

At the April 25, 2012 ECOS Steering Committee we presented an initial draft of the prioritization criteria and broke into small groups to review whether the criteria was correct and if the scoring is right.  We then refined the prioritization criteria based on feedback from this workshop.  The revised prioritization criteria are below and are available for public comment through May 31st.

Please provide any comments that you have on the DRAFT Prioritization Criteria below!

Hello Regina and Charlie, I

Hello Regina and Charlie,

I was waiting for a responds from Penrose, to make sure that my suggestion in the Education Criteria is in lines to what she was thinking too. #6 in our opinion is to specific to a couple of towns in Chittenden County and it does not reflect the county as a hole. This is my recommendation for #6:

Increase global awareness by learning diverse cultures, religions, lifestyles, and an understanding of non-English languages, with a mutual and open dialogue of respect.

Thanks,

Ed

PS. If I hear from Penrose, I will contact you all.

ENERGY Item 1 Suggest

ENERGY

Item 1
Suggest changing to reduce amount of energy wasted (conservation)should be top priority.

Change item 4 to: Increase energy efficiency (should be second priority to conservation and renewables would be 3rd priority)
